2011 The objective of the Moves for Life programme is to unlock the educational potential of South Africa's children by improving maths & science performance, through the implementation of structured chess programmes. The Moves for Life prgramme consist of two sub programmes. They are: 1. The MiniChessTM programme. This
programme
is
intended
for
Grade
R,
1,
2
and
3
learners
and
is presented
as
a
chess-in-school
activity.
This
programme
is
unique
in
the
sense
that
it
uses
chess
to
train
math
concepts
and
basic
life
skills
to
the
younger
learners
in
a
fun
and
easy
way. The presentation will give a full overview of the programme, it unique features as well as information on how individuals, chess clubs, chess unions and schools can become involved and benefit from the programme. The overview presentation will take place from 11:00 to 13:00 and is free of charge. Moves for Life is a private initiative that is executed under the auspices of the Supreme Chess Trust (IT. 3705/09) The Trust is SARS registered as a public beneficiary organisation (PBO No. 930032643).
